    Default FMJ, TMJ, Plated????

So, I was at the gun show this weekend. Picking up some stuff for reloading, things like powder, bullets, and primers.

At one of the booths there were lots of bullets. I found what I was looking for and went to buy it and the girl that was running the booth sells me TMJ 230g 45ACP bullets, calls them "plated" bullets, and charges me the plated price. I corrected here and tried to explain that they were not plated, they were TMJ. After a few min of arguing over it I let it go and paid the 18$ for 200.

Has anyone ever heard of TMJ's being called "Plated"? I always thought that the plated bullets were the lead bullets with a very thin plating.
"Those, who have the command of the arms in a country are masters of the state, and have it in their power to make what revolutions they please. [Thus,] there is no end to observations on the difference between the measures likely to be pursued by a minister backed by a standing army, and those of a court awed by the fear of an armed people." -- Aristotle

Yes, and Yes. I agree with you that there is a difference, but I see them used interchangeably. I soon expect to see copper washed 22LR marketed as TMJ.
