Having a semi-auto in .223 and .308, it is more economical to reload, and I get better groups.
Having plenty of ammo increases the peace of mind, knowing there is enough when I need it.

I started reloading over 50 years ago with my GrandPa. His rule for us boys was simple...you shoot it...you clean it and reload what you shot and put it all back where you found it.
He was a very patient man and taught us all how to properly clean (all homemade solvents and copper remover I still use today) and of course taught us how to reload cartridges/shot shell.
I have now passed all this on to my children and grandchildren.
My 8 year old Grandson loads his own .223 and got a 10 point buck Saturday with his single shot .223 :)
Why do I reload? Family tradition.

Because he measured Edge to edge. Most people talk groups as center to center. To get center to center, you measure edge to edge then subtract either the bullet diameter or the diameter of one hole, or the average diameter of several holes.
Whichever method, 0.6" ish diameter minus 0.3" ish gives 0.3" ish.

Economical for me since I casted back then. Might be costly to start out, but once you get all your toys gathered and cast, it saves even more $$ . Rolling your own and shooting it after
wards is a far better deal then buying store bought anyday for me. You feed your gun or Rifle what it really likes to digest then and not what the Manufacture's want you to buy. Even
better if you cast it and shoot it, You can then re-cover your own lead and re-cast again for later use. works for me.
