That's some nice work. Any idea on cost?

very nice indeed. What is the engraving necessary for? I'm guessing something to do with NFA but not completely sure

Yes, I would have to engrave my city/state on the lowwer receiver. It would also have to be mechanicle. Although now that I've put the Safe first in line, I'll wait til I get back to build the SBR.

Not entirely informed on the finer legality points but I think not. In a sense, I am the the manufacturer so that is why I HAVE to engrave it. Im sure ATF would be interested in my new address though.

Not sure how short a 10 foot rifle will be.... lol

But as far as engraving, I've only used a place in the mall, and I'm pretty sure you would give the old lady's a heart attack if you opened your case and showed them.

Don't know the cost, as its been awhile since i used them, so call them for a quote. They do other engraving besides NFA work.

On a Form 1 build, you have to engrave the manufacturer's name and location on the firearm. (simplified explanation) The engraving denotes where and by whom the firearm was made. (firearm is used with the definition given in the National Firearms Act, does not necessarily mean "gun") The engraving is an identifier used on the form 1 and in the registry to identify the firearm. It would be illegal to modify the engraving after the fact, kind of like changing the serial number.
